  • A. Skippers (fishing boat owners) who plan to participate are requested to contact Marty (fish@sailbcyc.org or 813-956-3518) by August 5th so we can plan on “fleet” size.  Please id the # of crew you can accommodate.   “Stowaways” (fishermen/women crew) are requested to “sign-in” by August 6th so we can get all on board.  Late arrivals will be accommodated, if at all possible.
  • B.  Appropriate fishing gear for shrimp and crabs will be required.  Members unsure of what to bring should check Trending Now posts or contact one of the committee members for advice.  Contact information is below.   Specifically required are;
    • Dive boots or other hard soled water shoes.
    • Flashlight, “headlamp” style, available at Harbor Freight, is ideal.
    • A fine mesh “dip” net with a long handle.  Some have used a swimming pool skimmer net.  Appropriate nets are available at West Marine and local tackle shops.
    • A Seine net is optional.  It may be used in tandem with another boat or “skimmed” along the shoreline.
    • A live well or aerated bucket to keep the catch alive or a large ice chest to immediately chill the critters.
    • Fishing License!  If you are 65 or older & a Florida resident, your Florida photo id is acceptable, otherwise you need a license.  See Florida Fishing Regulations for details.
  1. “Skippers” meeting and equipment review at 7:00 P.M.  All participants are requested to attend.  Crew will be matched with skippers where necessary.  Vessels, Gear, Bait, and Charts will be reviewed and potential fishing areas discussed.

  5. Dinner at 6:30.
  6. MANDATORY cleanup after dinner.
