BCYC's Covid-19 Policies

An update from the Board... (May 21, 2021)

BCYC is still monitoring and following the CDC Guidelines and Recommendations and as such, the following advice is in place:

Board Meetings: Continue as-is on Zoom so that all members may participate.

General Meetings: To be held in-person. Members who have been fully vaccinated (both shots + 14 days) may wear masks if they feel it is appropriate to do so. Members who have not been fully vaccinated are to wear masks and socially distance themselves as appropriate. All members are strongly encouraged to respect the choices of others and to respect social distance rules when asked.

Work Days: Resume as necessary. Masks required in Clubhouse. Disposable masks will be available.

Weekend /Happy Hour Socials:  Club may provide beer, wine, mixers, single-serve snacks and heat-and-eat hors d'oeuvres. Members are encouraged to “BYO” food and drink if uncomfortable with provided options.

General considerations:

• All cleaning supplies contain the recommended percentage of bleach to fully clean and sanitize all surfaces.
• Hand sanitizer is provided in multiple areas around the clubhouse including: by all entrances, each bathroom, kitchen, and in all common areas.
  
• Activities are intended to utilize the patio and other outdoor space.
  
• During planned activities, use of the kitchen and food service is restricted to fully vaccinated volunteer members only.

However, as always, the club is open for the following watercraft activities - at your own risk and following current social distancing rules - which includes the following:

• Tuesday Night Racing
• Sunday Racing
• Sunset/Full Moon Cruises
• Weekend/Monthly Cruises
• Sea Scouts Sailing and Racing
• All Paddlesports (canoe, windsurfing, paddle board, kayak)
  
• Rhumb Runner Sail/Racing
• Meetings on the patio, in the Sandbar Lounge, or on the covered porch

Under current social distancing rules, it is advised, that while at the club, that you follow these guidelines:

• Please be mindful of others and be respectful of social distancing rules
• Please maintain at least 6-feet of space when interacting with other members
• No gatherings of more than 10 people (who must still follow social distancing rules above)
  
• Wash your hands often and wear a mask
• Take every precaution; it is possible to spread the virus days before symptoms appear
• Please clean and sanitize after yourself to help protect your fellow club members
• Please be prepared and keep a mask with you at all times.
