Capri Use and Storage

Five of Club Capris are now stored on the hard by the hoist dock. It is important to tie them down. See instructions below.

One Capri is in the water on the hoist dock. It is important to secure it to the dock correctly. See instructions below.

Remember any time you use a Capri, you must sign it out in the log book inside the club house. After your sail, you must sign it back in.

Note: The Capris may not be used when the wind speed on the Bay exceeds sustained winds of 15 knots and/or there are predicted gusts over 20 knots. One life jacket for each person and of the proper size must be on board

Capri Dry Storage Removal and Tie Down Procedure

To remove a Capri from the dry storage:

  1. Remove both stern tie down lines.
  2. Now lower the third wheel of the trailer to loosen the front tie down and unclip the bow line from the eye bolt. Do not untie the bow line from the clips.
  3. Attach tow dolly or tow vehicle, raise third wheel and remove trailer & Capri to the hoist area.

To return a Capri to tie down area:

  1. Align trailer tongue with painted stripe on black top.
  2. Move trailer all the way back to the stops, aligned as best as possible. Both tires should be touching the stops.
  3. Now attach the bow line clip to the eye bolt.
  4. Now rotate the third wheel down and tighten the line by cranking up the third wheel up until the bow line is somewhat tight (not too tight)
  5. Now attach both stern lines reasonably tight
